What's New in SAGE 1.5

  • MapQuest Integration - The new MapQuest layer in SAGEMap and SAGEMapPro supports the use of MapQuest servers to generate the map background image as well as perform additional functions like route planning and geo-location. In addition a new version of the SAGEWeb Rich Internet Application (RIA) is available that uses the MapQuest control to render and manage the map display.
  • FileImportLayer - The new FileImportLayer allows the user to import local files into their own copy of SAGEMap or SAGEMapPro and then optionally share this information with others using the SAGE Enterprise Services. The FileImportLayer can currently be configured to import a variety of text, Excel, and image files.
  • StreamImportLayer - The new StreamImportLayer is similar to the FileImportLayer except that it reads data from a network (TCP or UDP) or serial data stream.
  • GPSTrackingLayer - The GPSTrackingLayer reads data from a standard NMEA GPS device and plots the information in real time on the local map. This information can then optionally be shared using the SAGE Enterprise Services.
  • Private Channels - Private channels allow clients to establish a more efficient point to point connection in lieu of the traditional SOAP/XML protocol. This has significant performance benefits, especially on channels that have limited bandwidth.
  • SAGEMapPro - SAGEMapPro is a new Windows application that supports the display of multiple simultaneous maps using a flexible tabbed approach. Maps and tools can be laid out using drag and drop and can be docked anywhere inside the main application window or outside the main window as a standalone window.
